In addition to your standard Mike Henry Travel Insurance cover, we are also able to offer a variety of Optional Extras, at an additional charge, to further extend your insurance cover, and help you travel with even more confidence.
DEPOSIT/TRAVEL CANCELLATION OPTION - $150 PER ADULT
If you are booking your trip now, but not paying the balance of your airfare until later, we can cover you for Cancellation of Travel with our Deposit / Travel Cancellation option. Please note should you have a Pre-Existing condition this must be paid for at the same time as the Deposit / Travel Cancellation option is taken. If required please contact Mike Henry Travel Insurance on 0800 65 77 44 for approval. When you have paid for your airfares in full you need to purchase the balance of your travel insurance premium for full cover.
RENTAL VEHICLE EXCESS OPTION
Our policy provides you with a standard Rental Vehicle Excess Cover of $3,500 with an excess of $300 that applies to each and every claim. You can reduce the excess to $100 and increase cover to $4,000 for an additional premium. To be eligible for this cover the vehicle must be rented from a licensed rental vehicle agency in the name of one of the insured persons. The Rental Vehicle Excess Cover can only be taken at the time you purchase your insurance and dates of hire must be specified on the insurance policy. No refunds are available if the cover is not used.
SPECIFIED ITEMS
If you are travelling with any item or sets of items valued over $1,500, we can insure it for an extra premium. Video cameras or cameras (including its attached or unattached accessories), are covered free of charge up to $2,500. The maximum amount we can cover for any one item is $5,000, and the maximum for all specified items is $15,000.
SPORTING ACTIVITIES
We can cover most tourist and social sporting activities under this policy. Please refer to the policy wording for exclusions. If you are participating in any high-risk or competitive sporting activities, we may be able to arrange cover. Please notify your consultant if you intend to undertake any sporting activity - you will be advised if this can be covered.
PERMANENT ONE-WAY TRAVELLERS
If you are intending to leave New Zealand to reside permanently overseas, cover can be offered under the Leisure Policy.
- Premium Plan A must be purchased regardless of destination.
- No cover for Pre-Existing Medical Conditions or items over $500.
- Maximum period of six months consecutive travel.

DOMESTIC AND INCOMING TRAVELLERS TO NEW ZEALAND
If you are travelling around New Zealand we can provide cover under this Leisure Travel Insurance policy.
- Select the Plan that relates to your home country.
- A maximum transit period of up to 72 hours from your home country to New Zealand and return.
There is no cover for Pre-Existing Medical Conditions or Specified Items for Domestic and Incoming Travellers.
